Our story

Pamplona Alimentos S/A, a privately held corporation, was founded on May 3, 1948, by Mr. Lauro Pamplona and his wife Mrs. Ana Pamplona.

The company had its origins in the municipality of Agronómica, in the state of Santa Catarina, and in 1963 under the name of Açougue Riosulense Ltda., it dedicated itself exclusively to the slaughter and sale of beef.

The commitment to grow and the need to always provide products with quality and differentiated service made this enterprising couple believe that it would also be possible to sell pork. A new product then emerged, which allowed offering another alternative to customers. Diversifying the mix even further, new product lines were created, such as: smoked, savory, sausages, sausages and derivatives.

With the ideal of growing and innovating, in 1969 they transferred their activities to the municipality of Rio do Sul/SC, with modern and new facilities for the time, starting to use a new corporate name: Frigorífico Riosulense Ltda. At the end of 1973 the company was transformed into a corporation. In 1974, in order to adapt to new requirements and updates in the agro-industrial sector, it became necessary to join the SIF (Federal Inspection Service). This procedure resulted in the opening of new markets and the development of new products.

With the growing domestic market, the company felt the need to expand its industrial park. As a result, in 1989 another refrigerator was acquired in the municipality of Presidente Getúlio/SC. This acquisition allowed the company’s production and storage capacity to be significantly expanded.

The company acquired the status of Certified Farm in 2002, with the certification of the farms located in the municipalities of Laurentino and Ituporanga, both in the state of Santa Catarina. These are production units that meet the requirements of the Normative Instruction SDA (Secretary of Agricultural Defense), producing animals with refined genetics and with a high degree of health.

Pamplona also has a feed factory, located in the municipality of Laurentino/SC, responsible for the production of feed and concentrates that meet the needs of its herd and also the sale of Pamplona Feed.

In 1996, seeking a greater participation in the markets, the first exports were carried out. The Company sought to direct the surplus of its domestic market sales to the foreign market. It also adopted the strategy of offering its customers products with greater added value, industrializing seasoned and cooked products.

Thinking about expansion and modernization, in 2015 Pamplona inaugurated a new manufacturing plant attached to its headquarters in Rio do Sul/SC. Currently, the company has more than 3,300 employees, in addition to generating income for its outgrowers, thus contributing to strengthening the regions where it operates, acting with social responsibility, integrating with the environment, nature and the community.
